Gas Technician 3 Pre-Exam

This course contains a quick review of the G3 modules 1 to 9 and the applicable codes, acts and regulations regarding the Gas Technician 3 Licence. It contains no practical training and is a theory-only review course. This course prepares students with experience working in the field and wishing to challenge the G3 certification of qualification exam for their theory exam. It is also a good refresher course for students who have taken a full course previously and are struggling to pass the certification of qualification exam.
Course Pre-requisite: There is no pre-requisite to take the course.
Exam Eligibility:
1. You have 3 attempts to pass the exam. If you already attempted the exam 3 times, you cannot take this course to become eligible to rewrite.
2. If you took a full course, you must pass the exam within approximately 1 year of completing your G3 course.
3. If you did not complete a full course, you can challenge it. However, it is strongly advised that you have at least 2 years of experience working in the field before challenging the exam. After passing your theory exam, you may be required to complete a practical exam with TSSA.
Important: If you are considering government funding assistance options, such as the Ontario Job Grant (OJG), please contact us before submitting your application as the course cost is different.

| Description | This program does not require approval under the Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005. A Gas Technician 3 (G3) licence will enable you to work under supervision on any natural gas or propane fired equipment. Examples: Furnaces, Fireplaces, Water Heaters, Pool Heaters, Stoves, Clothes Dryer, etc. |
| Course Outline | This program is a quick theory review of the G3 modules 1 to 9 and the applicable codes, acts and regulations. It is intended for individuals who would like to challenge the certification exam or are struggling to pass the certification exam and wish to refresh their knowledge of the G3 modules. There is no practical training included in this course. It is not a full course and will not help students whose course training has expired or already attempted and failed the certification exam 3 times. |
| Exam | The theory examination can be given by HiMark at our location upon completion of the course. For individuals who are challenging, the practical examination must be given by a T.S.S.A. Fuels Safety Inspector and arranged through T.S.S.A. by the student. |
| Pre-requisite | None. However, individuals without previous experience are highly recommended to take the full course (Gas Technician 3 Evening or Gas Technician 3 Co-op). |
