An equivalent to the prerequisite requirement of 500 hours of G1 supervised work experience on systems firing over 400,000 Btuh in order to obtain the G1 license. This course cannot be used as experience required to challenge the G1 exam. Therefore, you will also have to complete a full Gas Technician 1 course before writing the exam. The remaining 3,500 hours of work experience with a G2 license that is required to obtain the G1 license is not included in this course.

The G1 GAP course is approved by TSSA as an equivalent to the prerequisite requirement of 500 hours of G1 supervised work experience on systems firing over 400,000 Btuh in order to obtain the G1 license. This course cannot be used as experience required to challenge the G1 exam. Therefore, completing the Gas Technician 1 course is required to be able to write the G1 certification exam.
Pre-requisiteValid Gas Technician (G2) license.
ExamThere is no TSSA certification exam. Evaluations conducted during the course.
