A Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic may perform the functions below with respect to any cooling or heating-cooling combination system that is installed and used in a residential, industrial, commercial or institutional setting:
- Plan, prepare and lay out the system.
- Install and start up the system and verify the operation and function of the system.
- Install and connect piping to convey all types of refrigerant used for primary and secondary cooling.
- Maintain, service, repair and replace system components and accessories, including the electrical and electronic components of the system.
- Service, test, adjust, commission and decommission the system.
Course Length
60 hours.
Course Outline
This is an advanced course designed for those who are currently working in the field. The goal of this course is to prepare all students for the AC Refrigeration Certificate of Qualifications Examination. Students will receive an in-depth review of all modules.

None.
HiMark only offers the course. Students who wish to attempt the Certificate of Qualifications Examination will have to register with the Ontario College of Trades.
Pre-Requisite
None.
However, we recommend receiving approval to challenge before registering.
To apply for approval, you must submit a Trade Equivalency Assessment Application with the Ontario College of Trades. This includes providing proof of at least 9,500 hours of field experience working in a related trade.
