A Gas Technician 1 (G1) Technician may install, inspect, alter, purge, activate, repair, service or remove a natural gas or propane appliance of any BTU input and the equipment and accessories essential to its operation.

Course Outline 

This is a full-time evening program where participants will receive lectures and practical labs in modules 26 to 31 and the applicable codes, acts and regulations.

Exams

The theory and practical examinations will be given by HiMark upon completion of the course, at our location.

Pre-Requisites

  1. You must have held a valid Gas Technician 2 certificate (photocopy required) for at least 2 years with a minimum of 4,000 hours, with at least 500 of those hours working on systems operating over 400,000 Btuh under the direct supervision of a G.1 certificate holder.
  2. Letter from your employer, or supervisor, that holds a valid Gas Technician 1 certificate (with their name, certificate number, signature and photocopy of certificate), or a sworn statement signed by a notary public, detailing your work experience. i.e. the type of equipment, input rate, service maintenance or installation, and the accumulated time spent on each type.
