DescriptionThis is a preparation course for individuals who will be attempting the 313A Certification of Qualifications (C of Q) Examination administered by the Ontario College of Trades (OCOT).

Individuals who are currently enrolled in an apprenticeship program and want a review before writing the C of Q exam are highly recommended to register!

A 313A Residential Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic license will enable you to work on any cooling and heating-cooling combination systems including geo-exchange systems in residential, industrial, commercial and institutional settings. Specifically, you will be able to plan, lay out, install, start-up, maintain, service, repair, test, verify, commission and decommission refrigeration and AC systems, electronic components and their accessories.

In Ontario, the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Trade is also a part of the Interprovincial Red Seal Program.

Furthermore, you do not need to have a 313D license before you can attempt the 313A C of Q exam.
Course OutlineThis course will provide you with an in-depth theoretical review of all modules to ensure that you have the knowledge that meet industry standards of practice for the trade.

HiMark only offers the course and does not administer the C of Q exam. Students are recommended to book their exam through OCOT prior to registration.
Pre-requisiteNone.
However, you must be able to provide proof to OCOT of at least 5 years (or 9,000 hours) of field experience in a related trade to qualify to write the C of Q exam.

ODP – Ozone Layer Awareness Protection Program

Course ScheduleSaturday 8:00am – 4:00pm
DescriptionThis is an approved 1-day environmental awareness training program designed for individuals who would like to obtain an Ozone Depletion Prevention (ODP) card. This includes those who let their original card expire and would like to get a new one.

By law, only a certified technician can remove, handle and dispose refrigerants that contain ozone depleting substances and other hydrocarbons.

The Ozone Depletion Prevention (ODP) Card entitles the holder to purchase and handle CFC/HCFC/HFC refrigerants and hydrocarbons.
Course OutlineThis program will allow students to understand environmentally-correct equipment design, proper handling of refrigerants and how to comply with Federal and Provincial Regulations covering refrigeration and AC systems.

This course is strictly theory and does not incorporate hands-on training.
ExamStudents will write a theory examination at our location upon completion of the course.
